Join Trek World Racing At The World Cup
This year, 23 Degrees Sports Management, owners of Trek World Racing, are bringing back their popular “Local Support Crew” program for the upcoming 2011 season. The Local Support Crew program was first created in 2001 as a way for fans of our first team, Global Racing, to join the team as a temporary member, when the team visited a race nearby, giving the lucky fans chosen a chance to see behind the scenes of the team and work with the staff and riders.
In 2011, we are offering 10 lucky people to join Trek World Racing for a maximum 4 days during 10 World Cup races, one race each. Each Local Support Crew member will get to experience some of the behind scenes operation of our team, and have specific duties within the team, allowing you the opportunity to work with the athletes and staff. The team will also rely, to some degree, on the Local Support Crew members from time to time for some of your local knowledge if the team has any issues that require a local person’s knowledge. Here are the races:
World Cup XC/DH #1 – Pietermaritzburg, South Africa (April 21 to 24)
The following criteria will help you to know if you are eligible to send in an application.
Criteria:
1) The team’s operating language is English, so you must have English as one of your spoken languages.
2) You must live close to the race venue above (within an hour or so).
3) You must be old enough to sign a waiver without requiring a third party’s consent for this interactive promotion, according to your relevant national laws. It is also ideal if you have a current and valid driving license.
How To Apply:
All you have to do, if you meet the 3 criteria above, is send us an email with an answer to the following questions below. Email us at info@23degrees-sports.com with the subject “Local Support Crew”. Email us before March 15th, 2011. In the 2 weeks following this deadline, the Team Management of Trek World Racing will determine which lucky fans will join the program. Each of the Local Support Crew will also receive team clothing as a gift from the team, as well as having the chance to experience something very unique. Many of our previous Local Support Crew members have gone on to join teams, and some continue to work with 23 Degrees at various events to this day.
