The Evening’s Line Up

On arrival, in the foyer, you’ll receive a cold refreshing beer or glass of wine on the house, catch up with mates and nosh on some tapas.

We then enter the theatre to be entertained by Gary “Flipper” Perkin and his world famous mountain bike photography.

Then there’s a short film to get you in the mood before Follow Me takes centre stage. Delicious coffee from Bean There will be await you after the feature as you plan the next ride with your mates before heading home.

Whether it’s a good idea or not we almost always drop in. Now, riding alone is great. But let’s face it, we all ride harder, go faster, take more risks and have more fun when we ride with our friends. In every experience from sending giant step downs to high speed trail it’s always better to share the ride…. Follow me – nobody rides alone.

Follow Me is a new mountain bike film from the crew who made The Collective, Roam and Seasons. It takes the viewer inside the action, capturing the unique perspectives and HD imagery the Anthill Films crew is famous for.

Follow Megets back to basics and reminds us why we all love to ride bikes and breaks from the traditional single-rider format with the idea that ‘no one rides alone’. It features some of the world’s best downhillers, freeriders and slope-stylers showing impressive skills with high-risk riding at some of the best riding spots on the planet!

Sinamatella will be screening Follow Me as the culmination of an evening of visual mountain biking celebration at three venues:

•       Hilton College, Hilton: Wednesday, 1 December

•       Montecasino, Johannesburg: Monday, 6 December

•       Labia Theatre, Cape Town: Wednesday, 8 December

Thomas Vanderham and Brendan Fairclough just got done filming their parts for Follow Me with filmaker Jonathan Schramm. Photographer Sterling Lorence got some very solid images from the shoot in Whistler which can be seen here. The premise behind Follow Me is that if you are a rider you are never alone. No matter what happens in our lives we always have riding. Each section of the video is being filmed with 2 riders at a time to echo this theme. Visit the official site here

Follow Me looks like it is going to raise the bar quite high. Matt Hunter was one of the first riders to be filmed for the video which was done in Kamloops, Canada. The video is still a work in progress and will be christmas times 2 when it comes out. Visual artists meet MTB. Its a win win.

The remaining members of The Collective have started a new venture called Anthill Films and Follow Me will be their first release…

In Sping 2010 we can expect a new DVD from the folks who do amazing work with cameras and bikes. Follow Me will feature Gee Atherton, Sam Hill, Matt Hunter, Cam McCaul, Brandon Semenuk, Geoff Gulevich, Steve Smith, Kurt Sorge,  Ben Boyko and Thomas Vanderham. Filming will all be done in HD and the new Red One camera will be used. The theme behind the film will be focused around what makes riding bikes so much fun: riding with your friends. To document the progress being made with the film several webisodes will be produced. The film is presented by Shimano in association with Adidas Eyewear, Bike Parks of BC, Nike 6.0, Pinkbike.com and PRO Components.
