As a warm up for the National Downhill Series’ first round starting next week, Paarl played host to the first Western Cape DH race for 2012. And warm it was. With the mercury already pushing 30 degrees celsius at 9am, it was going to be a tough day. Saturday’s practice saw only a few riders pull through, most likely due to the heat, but in the end a field of around 50 riders took part in Sunday’s race run.
And so the year and racing season draws to a close, but i guess all good things have to come to an end. This past Saturday of 20 November was the last event and final race in Gauteng and also the last of the Gravity All Stars club series… (more…)

Please note that the October GAS club series race has been moved on with a week and will be held on 30 – 31 October 2010. The reasoning is to allow us enough time to finish the track and get it in good shape for the race, as well as to ensure riders have seen payday and are able to attend the event. it is a totally new track at a mountain guest lodge in Hartebeespoort and offers accommodation and all the amenities one would need for a weekend away or even just a relaxing comfortable race. More info will follow as details are confirmed.
