2012 Malelane TOYOTA Downhill Challenge

The second annual Malelane TOYOTA Downhill Challenge will take place on the improved and extended downhill track at the Malelane Stene plant, built and hosted by Dirk Lourens and proudly sponsored by Malelane TOYOTA, KTM and Laeveld Trekkers…

The second annual Malelane TOYOTA Downhill Challenge will be held on 26 – 28 October 2012 at the Malelane Stene plant just outside Malelane, Mpumalanga.

The richest private Downhill event in the country, on one of the most amazing Downhill tracks is prodly sponsored by Malelane TOYOTA, KTM, Laeveld Trekkers. First prize – R10 000,00 ; second prize – R5 000,00 ; third prize – R2 000,00

Directions:

Johannesburg: Take the N12 east towards eMalahleni (Witbank). Continue on the N4 past Mbombela (Nelspruit) to Malelane. As you approach the town turn right on the gravel road in front of ‘Martin’s Funerals’ GPS: 25’30’01.54”S  31’30’25.48”E and follow the signs to the brick plant GPS: 25’31’36.57”S  31’30’35.88”E. Once inside the plant follow the signs to the finish/shuttle pick up area of the track.

Durban: Take the N11 through Ladysmith, Newcastle and Ermelo. From Ermelo take the N17 North and turn off on the R36 and follow it through Breyton, Carolina and Machadodorp towards the N4 east. ). Continue on the N4 past Mbombela (Nelspruit) to Malelane. As you approach the town turn right on the gravel road in front of ‘Martin’s Funerals’ GPS: 25’30’01.54”S  31’30’25.48”E and follow the signs to the brick plant GPS: 25’31’36.57”S  31’30’35.88”E. Once inside the plant follow the signs to the finish/shuttle pick up area of the track.

Event schedule:

Friday 26 October: Registration and shuttled practice from 13h00 – 16h00.

Saturday 27 October: Registration and shuttled practice from 08h00 – 16h00.

Sunday 28 October: Shuttled practice from 07h00 – 09h00; race runs from 10h00 – 13h00; prize giving from 14h00.
